What's better than attending an intense cycling class first thing in the morning? I'll tell you, sweating and then going next door to get your hair done! Last Friday, I took a short drive over to Ardmore, PA for Drybar and SoulCycle's combined event, 'Ride & Dry'.
To kick off the event, I headed over to SoulCycle for my 9:30 class. The studio was everything that you would imagine it to be; bright, cheery, and sprinkled with lots of positive vibes. Once inside, I signed in and rented a pair of cycling shoes then headed over to find a locker to place my belongings.
Unfortunately, SoulCycle staff didn't allow me to take photos of the empty cycling studio (which baffles me since it was a media event....but whatever). Aside from not getting any photos of the cycling studio, the class was so much fun! I don't think that I've sweat THAT much in my history of cycling classes. This was the first cycling class that I've attended where they provided a full body workout! We worked out our legs, did a few dance moves that worked out our core and lifted weights to tone and define our arms. Whew-- I'm breaking a sweat just thinking about it! On my way out, I took a peak at the clothing items SoulCycle had for sell.
After my morning workout, I walked next door to Drybar. This week, I didn't have my hair extensions in so I couldn't take part in the Drybar services but I definitely would love to give them a try. The salon is bright and posh. The idea behind this establishment is for you to pop in to get a wash and blow dried style. Drybar does not offer cuts, colors, or excessive requests, it's designed for you to get in and get out (my kind of spot).
**Side note**For those of you who don't know, I am a natural girl. I allow my hair to flourish and grow by not adding a drop of heat to my natural hair (not even a blow drier). While I don't put heat on my natural hair but still like how straightened hair looks on me, my happy medium is hair extensions. Hair extensions protect my hair from the heat while still rocking my beloved straighten styles. **OK, side note is over**
I had a great time at both places and I'm already planning my next trip. If you're close to the Ardmore, PA area you have to make a stop to the Suburban Square plaza where the both of these places are located. You definitely won't be disappointed!
