Lights, camera, FASHION! There is no more official feeling than attending a fashion show in the “big apple”. I honestly could not stop thinking about all the amazing designs I would witness for the College Fashion Week event and now that it’s over, I can say that this event did not disappoint. What made this trip even sweeter is that my “BESTFRAN” (best friend) in the whole wideworld, Sol, accompanied me! After this past Saturday’s event, I’m convinced that fashion events and best friends are a match made in heaven.
One of the locations for this year’s College Fashion Week was in New York City. As a city girl and big city lover, I was overjoyed knowing I would be in the hustle and bustle of New York again. The 404 venue was a remarkable three floor, all white event space. After walking through the glass door entrance, I was greeted at the registration table by a few team members from Her Campus (hey y’all). After checking in and receiving our goodie bags (more info about those amazing gifts below), Sol and I wandered around the venue space to check out the amazing event activations. Before the show, we grabbed water from the Boxed Water table, allowed the beauties from European Wax Center to touch up our eyebrows, munched on Insomnia cookies, and washed it down with a Sparkling Ice beverage. Luckily for me, my seat was easy to find since my name was on it! I can't even lie, I felt so official seeing my name tapped on the front of a seat.
The show was broken down into four scenes: Rush, Festival, Study Chic, and Girls Night Out. Each scene gave great style inspiration for any occasion!
Rush featured looks that were great for last minute outings. There were lots of over-sized t-shirts paired with leggings and cozy sweatshirts paired with girly skirts.
Festival was stocked full of looks that were perfect for concert season! Not too dressy but stylish enough to turn heads.
Study Chic marries the concept of beauty and brains perfectly. The effortless looks included cardigans, layers, and comfortable shoes.
Girls’ Night Out is exactly everything you would envision it to be! Shirts with quirky sayings and sassy over the knee boots! You couldn’t ask for a better pairing.
I have noticed over the year and a half that I’ve been blogging that all events are only as good as its sponsors and College Fashion Week has had six rock star sponsors that assisted in the outstanding execution of this fabulous event. The sponsors also provided event correspondents with an amazing gift bag that I have to share with you!
FitBit Flex 2
Now tracking your daily activity and sleeping patterns has gotten easier! With the Fitbit Flex 2, the tracker is removable so that you can place it in other bands, fashionable bracelets, or pendants.
The unique concept behind the Drybar salon is “focusing on one thing and being the best at it”. The Drybar doesn’t offer colors or stylish cuts, they want to provide you with the best blowout (wash included) that you’ve ever gotten in your life for a great price.
Global lifestyle brand, Rebecca Minkoff has provided the event correspondents with a fabulous silver studded, mustard colored clutch. It’s big enough to carry all of your essentials but small enough to grab on the go.
The luxury watch brand, Bertha Watches is known for their fashionable styles and traditional craftsmanship. They were kind enough to give an amazing discount to any of their watch purchases.
This brand is America’s largest fragrance retailer! This retailer offered Event Correspondents a discount code for any purchase of a fragrance from their website!
While Vince Camuto is mostly known for handbags and stylish shoes but the designer also provides amazing fragrances. The one included in my gift bag is Capri which has an amazing floral, fruity scent. It’s very feminine and soft so it’s great for daily use without being too overpowering. Who knows, this may be my new staple.
Overall, I had an amazing time at this event! I’m looking forward to experiencing another HerCampus event soon!
