Let's face it, we're in the era where social media reigns. There are so many social media models, "yogies", and fitness gurus, I can't keep track and for the ones I can keep track of, they always have the BEST bodies. For someone (like myself) who isn't in the best shape, it can be a bit discouraging to constantly see amazingly fit and toned bodies up and down my timeline. I can barely keep track of my calories and I'm not about to kill myself in the gym to have an aesthetically pleasing body either. Insecure lovers rejoice! All of the amazing grooves that are played throughout the seasons can now be found on Spotify! I don't know about you, but I always find myself trying to remember clusters of words from a song that I hear playing in the background of a scene with the hopes of finding the artist on Google. Horse races, mint juleps, and exquisite hats all embrace the nature of the Kentucky Derby. This year, I finally made it to my very FIRST Kentucky Derby party hosted by West Laurel Hill Cemetery. Now, don’t frown your face when you hear “Cemetery”, I’ll have you know that West Laurel Hill is one of the most picturesque and historic landscapes in Bala Cynwyd.
**FYI: If you’re interested in the history of West Laurel Hill Cemetery, I’ll add a link here so you can get the details. This entire post is going to be dedicated to my time at the Kentucky Derby Party. **
Hey, I'm Njeri!
