3 Tips for Making Your Last Minute Party Pinterest Worthy : "The Host" Event by Urban Daddy x Jack Daniel's
Everyone wants to throw a good party, but after clicking through a few Pinterest photos it's easy to get discouraged. Seeing elaborate decor, expensive hor d'oeuvres, and intricate cocktails with specialty ingredients can be a bit overwhelming when all you want to do is throw a darn good party. Well my friends, this is where you will see your rainbow because I've learned 3 tips to turn last minute parties into Pinterest worthy posts!
Recently, I attended a really cool event as a guest of Urban Daddy and Jack Daniel's. During my time at this event (which was located at the Twisted Tail in Philadelphia) the host, entertainment and lifestyle expert, Maureen Petrosky was definitely a gem who shared a few amazing tricks for entertaining in a stress free kind of way.
Tip 1 : Keep decor simple.
It's so easy to want the world but frankly, you don't have the time for that. If your only focus is the decor then you certainly aren't planning to have any good food, music, or cocktails at your shindig. If you are, then don't get caught up in getting tons of props to decorate. An amazing tip that Maureen shared was to go to your local produce junction and get an array of beautiful flowers to act as your decor. Flowers add elegance and color without breaking the bank. Find a very simple item to hold the flowers so that no attention is taken from the floral arrangement.
Tip 2: Keep Your Food Simple
I can honestly say that I suck at this part. I love cooking and trying new recipes so I'm always the one spending hundreds of dollars trying to make sure my guests leave with a full stomach. This is where I go wrong. If I'm not hosting a dinner party, I shouldn't be serving dinner. Keeping the snacks delicious and light will require less time consumed by cooking before guests arrive. A suggestion that our expert of the evening gave was to create a simple yet delicious charcuterie board.
Your charcuterie board should consist of 6 items:
While this combination may not seem like a lot, it will definitely satisfy your guest's taste buds and tummy all while keeping your bank account full!
Step 3: Add Jack Daniels
I try to stay away from alcohol but if I do get a drink, it's normally a glass of Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir (because I'm classy like that). Since this was a Jack Daniel's sponsored event, of course they wanted to introduce the guests of the evening to different cocktails that included this dark whiskey. I'll leave that part of the experimentation process to you guys reading this but I heard a number of raving reviews about the drinks for the evening. From what was shared, Jack Daniel's is very affordable, tasty, and comes in a high proof where a little goes a very long way!
Hopefully these three tips will help you to create your own Pinterest worthy photos for years to come! I just want to give a heads up to any future house guests of mine: ALL PARTIES AT MY HOUSE WILL NOW INCLUDE A CHARCUTERIE BOARD (because I'm obsessed).
Good luck on your next party you guys! Party hard!
