This past Saturday, the Career Wardrobe held their sixth annual Empowerment Tea & Fashion Show event. This event serves as a time to connect with local supporters and fashionistas! This year, the Career Wardrobe has expanded into the suburban Southeastern area of Pennsylvania, so the event was held at the beautiful Radnor Hotel in Wayne, PA.
As a Brand Ambassador for the Career Wardrobe, I was given the opportunity to be a model for this exciting fundraiser! During my lunch break a few weeks ago, I picked two outfits to feature as looks for the runway and here’s what I came up with:
The first look I wanted to be free flowing, easy, and quick to put on if you’re in a rush for work. The skirt is from J.Crew, it’s an easy slip on skirt that can be worn as a high waisted piece (as seen in photo). I chose to wear this skirt a bit higher because it hides some of my curves and gives a slimmer appearance. Finally, this skirt adds a bit of fun to the primary neutral, cream colors. The oversized sweater is on trend this season, it adds an extra element of comfort and cozy for those days you’d rather be snuggled under your covers
The second look is one that could easily translate from work to a night out with the town. This outfit provides the perfect coverage for the office but the high waist of the navy blue BCBG pants adds an element of fun! Since the color scheme was pretty dark, I tied in the cream from the Ann Taylor silk blouse, to a cream jacket and matching cream pumps to lighten the look.
Ultimately, I had an amazing time meeting some amazing women and helping out with the Career Wardrobe fundraiser. When you get a chance, make sure you stop by the Career Wardrobe Boutique located on 18232 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA. And if you’re trying to cleanse your closet, Career Wardrobe is always looking for fashionable donations from local fashionistas!
