It's always been a dream of mine to attend an official New York Fashion Week show. This year, I was invited to attend the Sherri Hill show and there was absolutely no way I could turn down this opportunity! For this adventure, I turned to Career Wardrobe to find the perfect NYFW outfit! I wanted to keep it simple and semi warm so I opted for thigh high boots from Primark, a teal A-line mini skirt and a black no sleeve turtleneck that I got from Career Wardrobe. And to finish the look, I added my wool, fur lined collar coat that I purchased years ago from Plato's Closet. Simple, warm, and perfect for a day of adventuring around New York City.
Once I made it to New York City, I was starving and I honestly didn't know where I was so I stopped by the Cake Boss's bakery, Carlo's Bake Shop, which is located in Times Square. This was the first food spot I saw and looked really popular for tourists so I decided to give it a try. I wanted to park at a place where I didn't stick out like a sore thumb while I googled directions to my next destination. I ended up ordered a doughnut and a small coffee to nibble on while I used Google to find the closest restaurant with the best ratings.
After about 15 minutes of Google, I decided that I wanted to try a highly rated Steakhouse called Keens Steakhouse located on 36th Street. The ratings where through the roof for this place and it was down the street from Gotham Hall, where the Sherri Hill fashion show was taking place. So, I ordered an Uber and dined at Keens Steakhouse (which is EXTREMELY expensive) for lunch. The prices where so high that I ended up just ordering a bowl of Lobster Bisque which was literally the BEST Lobster Bisque I've ever had in my life. The soup was rich and creamy and it was served with bread so I was pretty full from my meal option.
After lunch, I rushed to the Sherri Hill show, checked in my coat and was seated IN THE SECOND ROW! I had an amazing seat, saw some amazing designs, and met some amazing bloggers! Make sure you check out my clips from the Sherri Hill show below!
After the show, I had one more stop. I was going to meet up with a blogger friend of mine for dinner at a restaurant on 7th Avenue called Cafeteria. The food was delicious and the company was much appreciated! We laughed and talked for hours over finger foods and the warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant made us out-of-towners feel right at home.
After dinner, we said our goodbyes and I headed towards the transportation center. I have to say, I enjoyed my day in New York City. Next time, I want to stay the night. Who knows what other fun adventures I'll experience during my next trip to The Big Apple.
Hey, I'm Njeri!
