New York Fashion week officially starts tomorrow (February 10th, 2016) and continues until next Thursday (February 18th). There has been a lot of talk about what to expect from the celebrity line up this year and I can say we’re in for a treat. There are so many designers lined up to rule the runway during one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year that I could go on forever describing each designer. Instead, I’ll list the top 3 things I’m most excited about for this season. Hold on to your seat belts because with some of these listings, YOU may have the opportunity to be an attendee of New York Fashion Week.
Waves Listening Party and Yeezy Season 3:
Kanye West is doing the unexpected again. West will be unveiling his Yeezy Season 3 collection AND premiering his new album, Waves, at Madison Square Garden on February 11th at 4pm. That isn’t all! West will not keep this highly anticipated event strictly for the fashion lovers that attend New York Fashion Week—West will be live streaming this show in a number of theaters worldwide! Check this link to see if this show is coming to a theater near you: http://tickets.kanyewest.com/. All tickets will give you general admission seating, the awesome part of this entire ticketing system is depending on how much you purchase the ticket for, you’ll receive a gift!
Puma by Rihanna
As you may or may not know, Rihanna was dubbed the creative director of Puma back in December of 2014. On February 12th at 8pm, Rihanna will be introducing her first Fashion Week collection, Puma for Rihanna. The “Work” singer has graced the front row of many Fashion Week shows and has shown us time and time again how to flawless rock any style but what should we expect from the “ANTI” artist? I know Creepers are on the menu but will there be any new creations joining the runway? Rihanna is a melting pot of style and fashion so it is impossible to forecast what she has up her sleeve. After seeing her creative pallet flourish when she teamed up with River Island, I’m sure she won’t disappoint.
Open To The Public Events
This by far is the most exciting part of New York Fashion Week in my opinion. Most fashion events are “industry only” events meaning it’s only reserved for buyers and press. Most of the time, those events are invite only so unless you know somebody, who knows somebody, who’s friends with the big wigs, you’re not getting in. The open to the public events are an awesome opportunity to take part in fashion week without feeling like a complete outsider. The events are amazing and you’ll have a better chance to connect and network with fellow fashion enthusiast. Some of the events you will have to purchase a ticket on order to attend, other shows you’ll have to RSVP by submitting an email. Either way, you’re pretty much guaranteed to get in there. If you’re looking to submit an email requesting a seat, stay tuned because I’ll be posting a template that may be able to help with your writers block.
