My, oh, my! Time flies by when you’re having fun! Last week I was given the opportunity to venture to the Upper East Side of New York City with hubby. We attended World Kitchen’s food photography event featuring Alexa Mehraban, creator of EatingNYC. The event was designed for Alexa to share tips and tricks for taking visually stimulating food photos with our smartphones! Exciting, right?
Upon entering, I was greeted by warm hosts and team members from World Kitchen. I was also given the option of white wine or Prosecco to keep me company until the event started. I love fresh, crisp flavors so I went with the white wine, Pinot Grigio I assume. What really caught my eye was the amazing layout and décor of the three story home. It was almost as if I decided to visit my super fancy, posh aunt. The fun color scheme and furnishings embraced my personal style perfectly which made me feel right at home. Once the bulk of the guests arrived, we were all thanked for coming by Alexa then escorted to the second level to begin the event.
On the second floor, there was a plethora of food stations set up that were we could go to explore different angles and lighting scenarios in order to produce the perfect foodie shot. Homemade pizzas, seared tuna, and ramen displays were elegantly placed around the room for the foodies to take turns snapping beautifully plated photos to entice social media followers
Not only did we learn about food photography, we also learned that World Kitchen was coming out with a stunning new line of decorative livingwear from their Corelle brand.
There was no way we could take food photos on an empty stomach so they World Kitchen team provided an impressive arrangement of fresh fare for those who wanted to nibble.
Overall it was an amazing event and I would willingly travel another 4 hours (2 hours going and 2 hours coming home) for an experience like that! Thanks for having me World Kitchen!
