This morning, I opened my eyes and squinted as the sun rays danced across my face. I grunted as I rolled over to grab my phone and swiftly detached it from the gray charger that has been refueling it all night. I turned on the phone and clicked on my social media tab. A practice that I have (that I'm not too proud of) is first checking my emails, then pop culture blogs on Instagram just to see what I missed out on as I slept through the night. And that's when I saw it. Nipsey Hustle was posted as a TSR Angel. "What ?", I though as I tried to clear my groggy mind. I read the headline again and again and again for a third time, then my heart dropped. So many questions raced through my mind and I could feel the tightness in my throat as I tried to swallow my shock. As I read the sorrowfully charged "Rest In Peace" posts from celebrity accounts, it all became crystal clear..
We all have days where life just feels dim and gray. No matter how hard you try, things just never seem to brighten up. The easiest and most natural way that we tend to deal with these moments is to let them take over, while some of us rely on vices to help get us through. The common demnominator for the both of these is that they don't help you out in the long run.

Every new year, we always challenge ourselves to do new and amazing things. When 2018 started, I challenged myself to read at least 50 books. Well, after succcessfully reading the first 10 books, I failed miserably. The good thing about me failing my 2018 resolution, is that I now have another opourtunity to get it right. So, my 2019 resolution is to read 50 books (again). I have such an intense desire to grow and learn as much as I can and reading will absolutely help to fullfill that desire. As an attempt to create some form of accountability, I'm going to list the 50 books that I'm interested in reading and I'll check in periodically with the nuggets of wisdom that I've learned during the journey. Feel free to join me and let me know what books you've enjoyed reading and the nuggets you've gotten along the way. Now, let's dig into the first 10 books I'll be reading this year.
