I use to SUCK at making New Years Resolutions because I never follow through with them. Some where between the second week in January and the first week of February, I usually forgot I even declared to make a change. In 2013, I did decide to refrain from using chemicals in my hair. That may seem minor to some people but for me, that was HUGE. I was the girl who always had to have a relaxer, texturizer, or some type of tint/dye job. I was getting tired of the damage it left behind and the money I had to shell out to get it fixed. In October of 2011 (not quite New Years but close enough) I made the decision that I was going cut out all chemicals and I was going to go the natural route. To kick start this lifestyle change, I was going to do a 1 year no heat challenge. This is a challenge where you can not use any type of heat on your hair (i.e. blow dryer, flat iron, steamer, etc.). I can honestly tell you, it was one of the most difficult things I have ever done but I did it! Not only did I successfully complete the no heat challenge but 4 years have passed and I have not used one drop of any type of chemical on my hair and I have 4 MAJOR steps that I used to reach my goal.
Ok, I'm in a music mood (as always) and today I think I should be including you all in on my music mood for the day. Whenever you see the title "On Repeat" you should get ready because I'm about to bless your ear drums.
Have you ever tried to experiment and do something that makes you happy and then someone comes and pisses on your day? Yeah, that happened to me today.
Tis' the season Fashionistas! The holiday season before we were given the luxury of the internet was always a dreaded season for me. If you're like me, you hate spending hours in crowded shopping areas and waiting in long lines just to purchase a few items. Thank God for the internet where any store you could possibly imagine is at your fingertips!
Since Christmas is right around the corner, I have created a list of AMAZING jewelry pieces that can be given as gifts (Fellas, you can thank me later). The best part is that you can order these pieces online and the person you've purchased the gift for is none the wiser! The awesome part is that they won't break the bank. Are you ready to be amazed? Let's go!!
Fashionistas, we've spent all weekend looking for the best deals, hunting for the perfect items to purchase, and a few of you may have fought a stranger for the last on sale item. No matter how crazy your sale shopping has been, make sure you participate in #givingtuesday today. Make it a priority to do something good for someone you love or even a complete stranger. Buy someone a coffee, write someone a letter, hold the door open for the person behind you. Make a conscious effort to give love, kindness, and respect to those around you today and everyday.
Hey, I'm Njeri!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
